Just outside Zounguldak I drove buy a parking space with an entrance into the mountain. First I thought it was a mosque built into the rock but when I turned around and went to look I saw that it was a cave. I didn’t expect too much but paid the small entrance fee and went in. First it didn’t look like much but the cave just kept on going into the rock for 850m. Passing underground streams and towards the end very nice drip stone I was happy I didn’t just drive by when I saw it.
I continued along the Black Sea coast to a small town called Amasra. It’s a cozy little city; touristically developed just enough to provide everything you need but not as much as to attract the masses. I ate lunch in one of the restaurants and drove on. I continued along the coast to Inebolu where I turned land inward. The trip along the Black Sea coast was very nice. The street wasn’t so good, narrow, curving and going up and down all the time. It was very tiring to drive but also very rewarding because the scenery was amazing and there was almost no civilization.
