We stayed one day and used it to get some information about the Galapagos Islands. The tours they offered from here and Quito were very expensive so we decided we would just take a flight to the island and then see from there. The other half of the day we used to take a long walk in the very nice river promenade called Malecon. In one beautiful part of the park you can even see llguanas in the trees. You have many local and foreign trees and flowers in that park just like in a botanical garden. This park is not only worth an extensive walk during the day but also in the night. The buildings, trees and monuments are lit artistically and it is really calming to stroll along while watching the lights.
