Now we had enough of Peru and headed straight up towards Ecuador, 3 different busses in one day. Before leaving though, we stopped in Mancora to relax for a couple of days. It is a little town but well known as a holiday destination for the locals. Apart from some remote beaches in parks, I haven’t seen any dream beaches on this side of the Andes and neither is Mancora. It is ok for a couple of days to relax after so much time in the mountains but I wouldn’t make all the way from Lima just to see it. About half an hour walk from the town there is a pretty nice bay with a clean and wide beach and some palm trees around the houses.
