The next morning I took the bus to Uyuni. It was all gravel roads, pretty uncomfortable but again with stunning scenery of the altiplano. Now it really hurt not to have a camera, the mountains have these incredible strong colors, red, green, brown, yellow and more. You pass through canyons and plains and at the end before reaching Uyuni you get a panoramic view of the salar. I really don’t understand how others prefer to take buses at night and miss al this. For me some of the nicest views I have seen were on regular bus rides from one place to another and not on special tours. Whenever I can I will travel during the day.
